OLD BILL'S PEST CONTROL

PESTS - CONTROL AND PREVENTION

When we think of pests, we generally think of rats, mice and wasps. But pests come in many guises: To a chicken farmer a pest is a fox; to a gardener a pest is a mole; in a nursery, a pest is a rabbit or deer; for fisheries a pest will be cormorants or geese.

Whilst many people try to live alongside the wildlife near their home or work place, there comes a moment when the squirrel chews through the electrical cables, or when bees nest in the chimney, and things have to be taken in hand.

We use modern and traditional approaches to pest control. In some cases we set live traps and remove the animals, in others it is more appropriate to use bait such as rodenticide. We are conscious of the dangers of secondary poisoning to pets and wildlife and only use methods appropriate to the area.

For some pests a licence is required to carry out specialist treatment such as the non-native species glis glis. We have qualified officers who will be able to assess your pest problem, take appropriate action, and advise on prevention.
